Many say that time is money, but in the book I’m currently reading “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voscamp, she spends an entire chapter on the sanctuary of time.
Time.
What do we do with our time?
And why is it that some people have time to get it all done and make it look easy, while others (like me!) don’t?
We all have a ton of things to check off our daily “to do list”, but what about the really important stuff?
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” Isaiah 30:15
UGH!
Ms. Voscamp stresses the obvious in her chapter on time that the busyness of our life leaves little for the source of our life! God is the one who gave us life, gave us all this time and yet we don’t often make time for Him.
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus extended an invitation to all of us…
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
How will you spend your time today?
Will you be too busy to spend time with the One who gave you life?
Or will you go to Him even for a little while and find rest for your soul with your gentle and loving Lord and Savior?
