I'm Going to Prison Tomorrow

And I couldn’t be more excited!

This weekend, hundreds of men and women in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area will be spending Friday and Saturday in men and women’s prisons and youth detention centers as volunteers for The Bill Glass “Behind the Walls” Ministry.

Each of us will have the unique opportunity to share the Gospel with men, women and kids whose poor decisions have led them to a life behind bars. Our collective goal is to assure them that, as followers of Christ, their sins have been forgiven and their eternity is secure.
This powerful message of hope will no doubt fall on a few deaf ears, that’s to be expected. But those who make the decision to turn over their lives to their Lord and Savior will be set free!
I am humbled by the opportunity to be a soldier for Christ. Please join me in praying that hearts will opened. That ears will hear. And that lives will be changed.
I’ll be back soon with an update on our weekend!
And the King will answer and say to them, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”  ~Matthew 25:40

Care About Others 2

Since my profession requires me to go to county jails quite often, I heard a woman out in the waiting area make a comment one day that really stuck with me. She was there to minister to the inmates also. But while she and others were outside waiting, she held up her Bible and said “It’s funny, the Bible is not allow in our schools, but is still allowed in our prisons. Maybe it’s time to put the Bible back in our schools to keep people out of our jails and prisons.”
Think about that. The government will teach Islam in our schools now, but don’t you dare pray on the center line on a football field after a game or you will lose your job. Don’t point to the heavens when you make a good play and give thanks to the Lord, or you will be persecuted.
But yet once you are in jail or prison, no one will say you can’t have people from ministries come and minister to you. But really, by that time, it might be too late!!!
And like most of the inmates I have dealth with, they all found God in prison. Like soliders finding God in foxholes. It’s never too late to find God, but my wish is that the Government would back off and let Christians be Christians wherever they want to be Christian. What’s the Government afraid of? Hmmm?

You’re so right, Claire! It’s never too late to find God. Like you, I wish prayer was still allowed in schools, but those of us who are believers are called to share the Good News!! Under the circumstances, We just have to be more intentional.
